Both Chinese and Bouyei language are parts of Sino-Tibetan with eclipsed adjectives. There’s no comprehensive study on the contrast of eclipsed adjective form in both languages, however for the convenience of mutual understanding and learning between these two ethnic cultures a comparison may bring necessary theoretical and practical significances. The eclipsed form of adjectives in bother languages not only has similarities but also has differences. I try to contribute myself on microcosmic description and make preliminary discovery over mutual trans lation between these two languages. This paper, targeted at the eclipsed adjective forms of Bouyi language and Chinese and based on contrastive analysis and synchronic description, descriptively analyzes the eclipsed forms of these two languages from the structure, grammatical function, grammatical meaning, eclipsed condition, translation method and characteristics by virtue of such relevant knowledge as contrastive linguistics, structural linguistics and practical linguistics. This paper introduces the relevant research trends of Bouyi language and Chinese, and compares them at four aspects, namely AA form, ABB form, AABB form and ABAB form. I have preliminarily found some similarities and differences through comparison with respect to eclipsed form, grammatical meaning and grammatical function, and Ⅰ have carried out descriptive analysis which may contribute to the study and learning of Bouyi language. Ⅰ also contrast the eclipsed conditions over the pronunciation, semantic and pragmatics. Furthermore, Ⅰ studied the translation of eclipsed objective form, expounded the translation methods and characteristics so that Ⅰ could draw some translation rules. At last,Ⅰconcluded the similarities and differences of eclipsed objective forms of these two languages on the whole.
