Umesiben mama is an important content in the Manchu ulabun. In recent years, the folk literature workers have analyzed it from ecology, history, literature, religion and other areas, but these studies focused on the understanding of the text content and the value of the social and historical text, lacked of specialized in philosophy. This article attempts to explore the historical evolution, gender consciousness and aesthetic view of the early Manchu and find out the ecofeminism consciousness of them. This paper attempts to read the Umesiben mama from the two different angles of Narrative Form and Narrative Content. From the Narrative Form, the epic described Umesiben and other women in detail. Although the story-teller is female, but the text gets rid of the limitation of the female gender identity, keep a record of the life of Umesiben and the history of Ubulin objectively in the zero-focalization. Furthermore, the concern over the wars and the positive effect of Umesiben in the development of history, also make the narrative thinking beyond the gender. In the concept of Narrative Content, the natural links of nature and women is the primary emphasis of Umesiben mama, and the links for specific performance is they are both "merciful father" and "irrational abusers’. Most characters of the epic are androgyny and we can’t define them in a simply way. All the members of the nature are living interdependent in harmony. Umesiben mama is not only object to the gender discrimination and the oppression to nature, but also revolt the female hegemony. The appearance of the ecofeminism consciousness in the early Manchu is inevitably. The formation of the conception of nature is because of the harsh natural environment and the awareness of nature-worship. The influence of Shamanism also played an important role of it. As for the formation of the conception of women, mainly from the women in the extraordinary position in the shamanism and its dominant position in production and living. The studies of the early Manchu can provide us a new train of thought about the development of the theory of ecofeminism. We need to take advantage of it from different angles adequately.
