The Aesthetic Experience Of "Complex Form Sense" In Fine Brushwork

As a type of Chinese painting to draw sceneries, elaborate-style painting isfamous for its exquisite and delicate brushwork and rich varieties of color. It notonly should be neat, exquisite, meticulous, and beautiful in form but also shouldbe complicated and intricate in content, which jointly constitute the unique“complicated sense of form” of elaborate-style painting. Nowadays, with theprosperous development of the modern and contemporary elaborate-style painting,more and more artists use “complicated sense of form” in their paintings and evenregard it as a vital form to increase the aesthetic perception of elaborate-stylepaintings.This thesis mainly analyzes the functions and effects of “complicated senseof form” in traditional painting, its performance in the modern and contemporaryelaborate-style painting, and my personal experience in the application of such“complicated sense of form”.
