A Study Of Chinese "Gui" Ci Poems

The Chinese "Ghost" cluster includes Chinese characters that take the structure "Ghost" as semantic symbol, Chinese words, phrases and idiomatic phrases that use "Ghost" as core morpheme. Based on the huge collection of practical language, this article does a comprehensive research on the Chinese "Ghost" cluster, especially in the aspects of word structural models, semantic meanings, syntactic functions and the cultural background of some particular words, etc. The whole article can be divided into four main chapters.The introduction part focuses on giving a detailed explanation on the specific circumstances about this research. Such as the reasons for choosing this topic, the study value, the research status and trends, the research goal and the plan to practice this study, etc.The first chapter concentrates on studying the semantic meanings of the Chinese character "Ghost" and those Chinese characters that take the structure "Ghost" as semantic symbol. The Chinese character "Ghost" originally refers to the existent spirit that will leave human’s body after their death. During the process of the semantic expansion about the meaning of "Ghost", this character experienced three stages of metaphor and multiple metonymies. As a result, this character developed fourteen different senses of a dictionary entry, and its syntactic function also became more various and flexible than before. Besides, this part either does a systematic study on those Chinese characters that take the structure "Ghost" as semantic symbol, especially on their semantic meanings.The second chapter’s research point is all of the compound words in the Chinese "Ghost" cluster, including words, phrases and idiomatic phrases that use "Ghost" as core morpheme. Firstly it analyses the structural models of those compound words, than particularly studies the phenomenon of Chinese root affixation exists in the character "Ghost". Secondly, it tries to find the reasons of making these compound words in the Chinese "Ghost" cluster from the semantic level. In the part of idiomatic phrases study, it chooses plenty of idiom phrases, two-part allegorical sayings, proverb sayings in the Chinese "Ghost" cluster as study objects, and deeply digs into the creating rules and metaphor methods of them from the perspective of cognitive linguistics.The third chapter mainly places emphasis on doing a integrative study about the deep cultural ideology and social motivations of creating words and phrases in the Chinese "Ghost" cluster from the perspective of cultural linguistics. On the aspects of Chinese nation’s traditional ghost culture, religious culture, folk culture, foreign culture and the characteristics of particular times, this part does a detailed research about the Chinese "Ghost" cluster from the level of culture, and makes a conclusion about the social pragmatic psychology that embodies in this cluster.The fourth chapter, which is a conclusion of the whole article, mainly summarized the achievements of this research and the shortcomings existing in it, then expresses the prospect of the further study.
