| This research is based on Cultural Proximity Theory to explore the box office performance of the nominated best feature films of Golden Horse Film Festival in2003~2012.This research examines the factors that influence the box office performance between China’s mainland and the Taiwan region, including “movie genreâ€, “domestic market size†and “culture valueâ€. The results indicates that the co-production film produced by China’s mainland and the Taiwan region will perform better than others. Besides, the“affirmatively-open†is the acceptable cultural value in common by both side of audience. However, value of “optimistic†is only accepted by audience of Taiwan region. In addition, “family harmony†and “self-insurance†are positively to box office performance of China, while “affair of dealing with friends†is in negative relation. |
