Research On The Application Of Reverse Design Thinking

To acquire the ability of creating more groundbreaking ideas is an indispensable part of designer.But the dominant reality is that there are a lot of factors which are counterproductive for utilising the creative thinking. For instants, “Thinking Set",which means,when the circumstance of design has been changed, there could be a huge possibility that designers’ ability of creative thinking would be constrained by the thinking set. This essay try to introduce adverse thinking in the design area. On one hand, to explore this theory systematically and thoroughly. On the other hand, this paper could present a substantial theoretical support for creative design. In the first place, conducting a serious of theoretical researches of adverse thinking design. Summarising the adverse thinking in different disciplines via the literature review, and generalising the necessity of install adverse thinking into designers’ mind. Moreover, combining the results of former researches and practical cases, summarising three forms of expression. Thirdly, according to four design processes, pre-design phase,design concept,design project and the later phase of design to present a specific method for achieving different kinds of reversal design against the application of adverse thinking. Above all, analysing the principles of reverse thinking, which aiming to assist designers using the innovative thinking method accurately which obtained from this paper.
