"Poetry approach toward painting, painting leap toward poetry" is a typicaldescription of the features of the French Symbolist painting. As a symbolist painter,Odilon Redon’s new period paintings are delicate, delightful, beautiful and mysterious.In this paper, through the study of painting styles and features of the Odilon Redon’snew period, summarizes the characteristics of its painting, and inspiration for myartistic creation.This paper is divided into two parts:The first part describes the artistic features in Redon’s new period. According toanalyzing of several paintings such as Buddha, Butterfly, Fresh Flower in GrowingThe Neck Bottle, review three features of Odilon. Odilon Redon’s new periodpaintings are poetic, aesthetic and symbolic.The second part analyses Redon’s new period paintings in respect of theme,structure, shape, color and summarizes the impact of his painting style for me. Underits influence, I decide to take more beautiful flowers and girls as my themes. In thestructure, I apply a large area of bright colour, together symbolize some point or lineof decorations used to enhance the sense of form of the picture. In the shape, Irealized the importance of layer in painting, using own aesthetic taste and way ofthinking would be the natural form of the object into a form of art. In the color,emphasis on bright colors mellow, create a mood of an expression of inner feelings.Under its influence, I not only get a raise painting techniques, but also its poeticbeautiful mood enriches my Art-loving feelings. It is reflected in my oil paintings, andI find my own painting language.
