Sergei Prokofiev, who is the great composer, pianist, conductor of the Sovietunion in the20th century, in his whole life he created countless music work,involving all of the art of music genre, among those works the nine piano sonatasconcentrated the reflection of his writing style. This paper will focus on the researchof his sixth piano sonata op82, I will write from the historical background, theauthor’s life and creating career, music identity analysis, the stylistic features, and theperformance skills n the several aspects to research the sixth piano sonata.This paper is divided into four chapters, the first chapter discusses the Prokofiev’slife and creating career, and summarized the Prokofiev three creative periods: early iscontinually explore and style of the period of dramatic change; Medium-term isProkofiev leave his native to Europe and the United States period; Late is graduallyvivid realism and artistic creation in a Russian style period, the period after the returnto the Soviet union is also a golden period of his creating career.The second chapter is from the music identity analysis of the sixth piano sonata,especially melody, rhythm, mode, tonality, harmony and so on, the analysis on thebasic composing characteristics of the work, show Prokofiev creative innovation.The third chapter analyzing the characteristic of the Prokofiev creation style,embodied in the sixth piano sonata, contrast between classical and modern, lyrical anddynamic, summarized the innovation in this work.The fourth chapter analyzing the piano performance skills, combining ontologyanalysis and their own performance practice, expound the technical characteristicsand the technical difficulties, for playing better of the work style.
