Egon Schiele is a genius Australian painter and an important member of Vienna Secession except Gustav Klimt. The works of Egon Schiele are known as passionate, distinctive, rich, vivid, and free with angular lines. Compared with tradional delicate painting, his works are simple,rough, subjunctive with distinctive individual characters. His paintings express his personal experiences and characteristic of his age. At the same time, he comprehensively used the art language of angular lines,colour,pattern,texture in his works. Therefore, his angular lines embodies the overall grasp of the elements in painting. On the other hand, his personal style is an obvious manifestation of his succession of teachings from his master.This paper aims at finding out his innovation and exploration in his painting by researching his succesion of teachings from his master, especially the inheritance and evolution from Gustav Klimt. This paper comprehensivelu uses the methods of comparision of style, image analysis, interpretation of works etc.. Based on the literature review, from sociological angles, the paper investigates the "frame, form,theme,and content" of his works by using psychology analysis.Through the study of his works, the paper explictly confirms the succession of teachings of his painting style and the foundation of his characteristics. By demonstrating Schiele’s unique exploration in painting, the paper expects to find out inspiration and innovation for Chinese oil painting.
