Late 16th century Ming Dynasty, the Wu School began to decline in the mid-Ming Dynasty experienced the rise of post. At the same time, near Suzhou (Wu School’s core areas) where Songjiang School is on the rise, the competition between the two Schools is very fierce. This time the Wu School painter has spread to the third generation after Wen Zhengming, creativity slowly subsided, plus some other factors the late Ming Dynasty socity, the combined effect of the Wu School facing hardship situation. Dong Qichang is Songjiang School’s leader, he relies on his status and prestige make up their own circle, with many of his followers formed the core strength of Songjiang School. Dong Qichang believes Wu School has been declined after the generation (second generation after Wen Zhengming) of luzhi, Chun Chen and Wen Jia, and they also criticize the Wu painters conservative, no testimonies, as "leftovers ". Discussions centered on the competition late between Wu School and Songjiang School, describes the phenomenon, exploring the reasons, with the help of the ancient text data, image analysis and sociological research methods, I hope that I could touch and learn some deep stuffs of the painting in the late Ming Dynasty. Obviously, from the perspective of the history of Chinese painting many versions of view, Dong Qichang’s Songjiang School is undoubted winner of this drawing competition in late Ming Dynasty, But I think this is more than just a victory triumph of art itself, but rather a mix of more uneasy to see factors. In the late Ming Dynasty, Wu School sanking also because there are a lot of itself’s reasons, Songjiang School carried many factors and influences leapt on the center stage in the field of painting. Taking into account the inheritance of the traditional Chinese painting to late Ming Dynasty’painting, summarize, innovation, and the huge influence on the later Chinese painting, a effective research about this also enable us to see the development path of Chinese painting, and a clear understanding of it.
