On The Knowledge Of Postmodernism From The Perspective Of Marxist Epistemology

From the perspective of the theory of knowledge, this thesis focuses on expounding the postmodern knowledge uncertainty and analyzing the theory of postmodern knowledge uncertainty with the aid of Marxist epistemology. Centering on the theme of knowledge uncertainty and the development of knowledge from modern to post-modern times, the whole text mainly explores and sheds light on the theory of postmodern knowledge in knowledge content, knowledge value, and knowledge development aspects.In terms of knowledge content, it doesn’t contain pure knowledge which can be universally applied in post-modern scope. All knowledge has its specific background,reflection object and application range. Concerning knowledge value, postmodernists believe that the value of knowledge doesn’t lie in trans missing the ready-made knowledge to people, but in creating new starting point for people continuously. In the case of knowledge development, postmodernists hold that knowledge is not changeless but develops with change.As far Marxist epistemology as concerned, knowledge is a union of certainty and uncertainty. Marxist philosophy is based on practice, so is Marxist epistemology. Practice is the source of knowledge, the driving force of knowledge as well as the purpose of knowledge. Postmodernism abandoning the objectivity of knowledge itself regarded knowledge as the belief and opinions of the subjects completely. In essence, the postmodern theory is a sort of uncertain and subjective epistemology. From the perspective of dialectical materialism, the postmodern knowledge put too much emphasis on the diversity and heterogeneity or certainty but ignored and even denied the integrity, objectivity and identity of knowledge. In other words, the postmodern knowledge ignores the certainty of knowledge and finally moves toward the relativism, which is the metaphysics detaching from the practice. Only by means of applying epistemology and Marxist philosophy, taking root in practice and employing dialectical materialism can we truly understand the essence of knowledge and then guide the practice better.
