A Probe Into The Causes Of The Rise And Fall Of School

Back to the 20 th century, along with the rise of the Reform Movement,the ordinary Chinese came to contact with a new music form—School Songs. Due to the novel rhythm and unique form, it got more and more popularity, and became a kind of new vogue in social culture, which is known as the " Yue Ge Movement". The School Songs plays an important role in Chinese modern music history, especially in the enlightenment of social music education and school music education.In this article, let’s look back to the development of school songs, and review it in a rational way. First of all, systematically carding the history of chinese music, help us have a deeper understanding of the internal logic of school songs’ self-development. Secondly, from the perspective of modern cultural ideological trend of evolution, these three phases "enlightenment" "thrive" and "fall" can be clearly analyzed. Based on the historical documentaries, the author re-interprets its rise and fall with the dialectic thought and the historical materialism epistemology. Last but not the least, by summarizing the motivation of school songs’ rise and fall, we see the lessons that we can learn from.
