A Comparative Study Of Russian And Chinese Anti - Fixation

Enantiosemy is a term of Chinese traditional exegetics, it refers to a word has two opposite meanings. Enantiosemy exists not only in Chinese, but also exists in other languages. With the development of language and society, enantiosemy is gradually payed attention by the lexicology study experts and scholars, and finally developed into a special category of polysemous words, some people also think that enantiosemy is a special category of antonyms. At present has not yet published a monograph, most of the articles are researched from the composition of enantiosemy and its types. This article firstly gives an overview of the research situation of enantiosemy, then define the confusing concepts such as ancient and modern word, antonymy with two roots and irony, point out the type of enantiosemy. Secondly analyze both the development process of Chinese and Russian enantiosemy and compositions. Finally based on ‘Modern Chinese Dictionary’and‘A General Russian Dictionary’, contrast and analyze words-collection and definitions of enantiosemy in the two dictionries, then summarize the similarities and differences between the two languages.This article aims to enable readers to understand the current situation of enantiosemy in China, Russian, even in the world by the analysis of the examples and contrast researches. The research of enantiosemy have a great significance on language comprehension, two language acquisition and foreign teaching and many other practical applications.
