| Person deixis has received widespread concern in the field of linguistics since the late 19 th and early 20 th century. It is a significant component of deixis and has great influence on the process of communication. Since this time linguistics from different countries have studied it from fields of semantics, pragmatics, cognition since then. The study of person deixis has been focused on the level of formalization or grammatization for a long time, while this thesis will study Chinese person deixis from a novel perspective of dynamic pragmatic distance which enriches the research results of person deixis in pragmatics. The person deixis that the speaker chooses will necessarily deliver a certain pragmatic distance under the double influence of context and communicative intentions. The distance will be manifested by three models of movement, which are close distance, horizontal distance and arithmetic distance, thus proving the dynamic of pragmatic distance at the same time. |
