"The unity of Examination and Education" is the guiding ideology after the reform of the "Chinese Proficiency Test"(that is New HSK).however,how specifically to implement this idea in the primary foreign language teaching practice, has aroused academic debate and exploration of the issue from the beginning.Based on the status of the primary foreign language teaching at Northwestern University’s empirical investigation, this paper has found some problems and put forward some teaching strategies.These problems are as follows:on teaching content,the proportion of the teaching grammar is too large, outdated textbooks, not enough culture into the textbook;teaching method is not flexible enough, teaching more and little practice; teaching environment is lacking, too little motivating factor.Solutions proposed included: ①focus on contextual teaching, dilute grammar teaching; ②introducing new content, updating old theme; ③increase cultural factors, deepen understanding of the cultural connotation; ④flexible method, advocated succinctly and training; ⑤strengthening incentives mechanism, introducing learning strategies.The conclusion of this paper are:The tasks of Chinese language learning are changing and the development of the comprehensive ability has become the main purpose of the of Chinese language learning.So teaching practice should change the past teaching mode which focuses on "language output" to enhance and concern Chinese learners language learning ability, comply with the development of Chinese reform, boost international promotion of Chinese language.
