As the center of Chinese culture in the long historical process, China’sConfucian culture has exerted a far-reaching influence whether in China itself or inneighboring countries, especially our adjacent country Vietnam. Both pre-qinConfucianism and neo-confucianism had successively been introduced to Vietnam.scholors in Vietnam not only absorbed China’s Confucian culture but also integratedand changed it at the same time. And eventually formed their own system ofConfucian culture.As an important part of the social class, the scholar social stratum has played apivotal role whether in the Chinese society or the Vietnamese society. From itsemergence to its destroy, the scholar social stratum has a close relation with theConfucian culture.By comparing the differences and similiaries between the histories and typicalcharacters, this article attempts to make certain the influence on Vietnam and itsscholar social stratum by the spreading of Confucian culture. Then we may have aclear understanding of its scholar social stratum. As a result, we can achieve a furtherunderstanding of the great value of Confucian culture. The cultural exchangebetween the two countries may also benefit from it.This article is composed of four parts: the first chapter is introduction, researchstatus, reasons and significance of topic, the reason and significance of topic,theories and methods of the research. The second chapter is an overview of thespread of Confucianism in Vietnam. It is divided into four stages. By imparting thedevelopment of Confucianism and Buddhism in Vietnam, we can describe the risingtrajectory of Confucianism in Vietnam more clearly. The third chapter mainlydiscusses the relationship between the development of Vietnamese scholar socialstratum and the Confucian culture. To analysis the similarities and differencesbetween Chinese scholar social stratum and Vietnamese scholar social stratum.Thefourth chapter discusses how the Confucian culture influences the enlightenment of cross-cultural communication, we may get some related skills for interculturalcommunication from the perspective of cultural identity.
