The students in my study are freshmen and sophomores from Kunming IndustrialVocational and Technical College and Yunnan Engineering Vocational College. I havea study of their purpose in Life,mental health and the measurement of their academicachievement to further study and explore the characteristics of purpose in life,mentalhealth and academic achievement and find out the relationship between them, thefollowing are results of my study.1. Most Junior College Students have no clear life goals.2. AVG of life goal for girls is higher than that of boys, but the difference is notstriking.3. AVG of life goal for Han students is higher than that of minority students butthe difference is not striking, either.4. There is no striking difference in specialty for the life goal of Junior CollegeStudents.5. The life goal for Junior College Students has no much difference in differentlocations.6. There is no striking difference in the AVG of life goal between students whoare only-child and those who are not only-child.7. There is no striking difference in academic achievement of Junior CollegeStudents for different gender.8. There is significant difference in academic achievement for students who Hannationality and minority students. In the performance of English and math, Hanstudents are significantly different from minority students, the former is higher thanthe latter, but the gap between them is little.9. There is distinctly difference in the academic achievement for differentspecialties. The performance of English and math of science students is higher thanthat of arts students. The performance of major for science students is higher than thatof arts students, but the difference is not obvious.10. The difference of the academic achievement is not distinct for differentlocations. The grades of students who are from county and city are higher than thosewho are from the town and rural areas.11. The difference academic achievement of students who are only-child betweenthose who have siblings is not significant. The former is a little higher that the latter. 12. Their parents’ educational level almost has no impact on the academicperformance of J Junior College Students. Junior College Students.13. There is marked negative correlation between Low-standard purpose inlife、equivocal purpose in life、unequivocal purpose in life with Mild depression、Moderate depression、Severe depression and the level of depression;there is markedcorrelation between purpose in life with Mild depression and the level of depression.Purpose in life can forecast the level of depression effectively.14. There is marked positive correlation between Low-standard purpose in life、unequivocal purpose in life、equivocal purpose in life and the score of purpose in lifewith academic achievement. Purpose in life can forecast academic achievementeffectively.15. There is marked negative correlation between Mild depression、Moderatedepression、 Severe depression and the level of depression with academicachievement. Depresstion can forecast academic achievement effectively.16. Equivocal purpose in life、unequivocal purpose in life can not only affectacademic achievement directly, but also affect it indirectly through depresstion.
