A Study On Xu Yin 's And Huang Tao' S Friendship And His Poetic Creation

Xu Yin and Huang Tao were the people of Putian,Fujian Province, and were thecousin, the famous poets in the late Tang and five dynasties.Their experiences weresimilar. they were interested in fame. They went thousands of miles around andganyed everywhere, but they did not try first and wasted their time, confining in theimperial examination for a long time. Although they experienced all kinds ofhardships and obstacles, still were more stubborn and persistent, keeping on fighting,respectively in the Tang Zhaozong Qian Ning first year (894), Qian Ning two years(895) had become a great man. They passed the examination finally. They frustratedin Changan later, therefore returning to their hometown, and they were hired byKing Min Wang Shenzhi, just their experiences were different, Huang Tao got thereuse of Wang Shenzhi. But Xu Yin still was not successful, and soon left, attachingto Quanzhou governor Wang Yanbin. He got gratitude for receiving help andencouragement by a superior. The poetry of two poets contained477poems, the content of poems had beenrich and had been concentrated, We can study their contact and mutual influence ofpoetry through the research of their poems.Firstly, to study Xu Yin and Huang Tao’s family and the date of their birth anddeath according to the existing historical materials and Xu Yin and Huang Tao’spoetry.and study the background of their contact, the friendship between them, thecontact of their common friends, the contact of their different friends. We cancompare the poetic idea of each other through the study of their friendship.Secondly, this paper focuses on the influence of the contact of Xu Yin andHuang Tao on his poetry creation theme and writing style characteristics. We cananalyze the similarities, differences and their causes. Finally, we can discuss theliterature history status and influence on later generations of Xu Yin and Huang Tao.
