Swear words are an organic part of language, a special language phenomenon,an object of study in sociolinguistics, cultural linguistics and even folklore. Swearwords are rejected by the public, but they exist in the public widely, especially inprivate communication group. As a special communicative language, swear wordshave their own uniqueness and they can express specific emotion on special occasions.As an original ecological living fossil which can record social life, swear words showa kind of folk habit. They have important meaning to study traditional social norms,especially the hidden social taboo and taboo language world’s way of thinking andliving habits.Animals’ swear words are a form of swear word and can be heard by people indaily life. Compared with other types of swear words, animals’ swear words areaccepted and used widely. Meanwhile, swear words are applied into other contextgradually in daily life. They are no longer simple curses or personal emotionalcatharsis. Even in some social occasions, people will use such kinds of words toexpress the close relationship between the parties.This study gives a comprehensive elaboration of the word production andformation, usage characteristics, and rhetorical mode of the animal swear words. Itintegrates the theoretical knowledge of cognitive linguistics and pragmatics in orderto analyze animals’swear words from the aspects of language ontology and cognitiveconstruction. Moreover, it combines the study with the inseparable relationshipbetween language and culture so as to proof the argument that animals’ swear wordsbearing the unique national culture and traditional ideas in Han national languageculture. Thus, understanding the language usage with the unique national culturalhistory, psychological characteristics, and national thinking pattern would reflect theunique values and thinking modes of Han inheriting culture.
