Chinese cognitive research is very hot in the last 20 years , The metaphor research is more hot ,Nevertheless, metaphor research in China is still scattered. This text main discussed the classification of metaphor, make the morphology research theory and the modern Chinese to unify, used describing and explaining method, in order to describe and explain the mechanism of making words.The full text can be divided into three parts:The first part introduces the overview of metaphor research at home and abroad, from belongs to rhetoric research to independent cognition research, Descript the domestic and foreign metaphor research from ancient times till now.The second part introduces the theory of cognitive metaphor. The classified angle of dead metaphor and conceptual metaphor is different, the classification of dead metaphor is time, dead metaphor is no longer causes people to association, different from dead metaphor is living metaphor; classification of conceptual metaphor is cognition function, the concept metaphor and the derivation metaphor relations are the"kind of concept"and the"concept". In concept metaphor, this text systematic elaborated the structural metaphor, orientation metaphor and ontological metaphor.
