On The Emperors Of The Tang Dynasty

As a political activity that exists during the whole feudal dynasty, CiYan has an intense connection with rulers in the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn period. In the Tang Dynasty, CiYan has become a frequent activity meanwhile, a series of feasts etiquette and systems were established and improved by the rulers. Under this circumstance, CiYan become an important way for rulers’ governing of the whole country, besides, it shows the political ethics order from the etiquette and reflects the changes of the dynamic politics and the social life.Through sorting out and analysis of the historical materials of Tang’s CiYan, the different types and kings of the CiYan were summed up. And combining etiquette, regime and royal activities, the particular scene of CiYan was pictured, and finally on base of these, the functions of imperatorial CiYan were made in the Tang Dynasty. The whole paper is including four parts.The first part is the isagoge, which mainly introduces the reason and purpose of this paper. Then the related research results have been collected, which can offer the proof of my issue.In the end, the unresolved issues and the research methods in the paper would be expounded.The second part is the main body, which is made up of three sections.In the first chapter, according to different objects of CiYan, various types of Tang’s CiYan will be analyzed. As a means of grace, the scope and the manner of CiYan are not invariable, which have a close connection with the political environment of the dynasty and the political philosophy of the rulers.In the second chapter, the recreational activities of CiYan will be analyzed to reveal the colorful life Tang’s court and and the social atmosphere of Tang’s people.In the third chapter, according to the summary of arious types of CiYan and their specific implementation, a conclusion can be reached that CiYan can benefit Tang’s ruling and CiYan is a political means that can maintain the emperor’s ruling and create a favorable diplomatic environment instead of CiYan’s inherent meaning of material comforts.The third part will summarize the whole text and conclude the basic perspective and make sure that the purpose and political implications of Ciyan as the way of helping to rule the country.
