Thus his officialdom novels have a unique understanding of the value and aesthetic value. This thesis based on the previous studies, interpreted the text as the center, to comprehensive study Li Bo Yuan’s field novel. This thesis is divided into six chapters:Chapter first is introduction. Introduction the Scholar’s research of present situation about Li Bo Yuan and his works. As the same time, based on the previous studies, this section will be a comprehensive and macroscopic study about his official novels.Chapter second, defined what the officialdom novels are, and traced its development process. In the pre-Qin period, some literature has emerged the factor of officialdom novels. Under the influence of historical literature and Tang legend, by the time of Ming and Qing dynasty, official novels have developed the prosperity time. In the time of late Qing, feudal social structure has been changed. It produced a large number of officialdom novels. These novels centered on the situation of exposing and satirizing officialdom, so it is named "the officialdom novels of late Qing dynasty". Li Bo Yuan’s officialdom novels produced on this condition.Chapter third, carding the family background and the life of Li Bo Yuan. Probed the mentality changed between the creations of officialdom novels. Li Bo Yuan burned in Scholar family. He lost his father at an early age. He has known for his hometown at the childhood under the help of his mother and uncle. Facing the change of time and the failure of imperial examination, he chose other road——Establish newspaper. When he faced of the late Qing Dynasty confusion, decadent, dark social order, Li Bo Yuan started writing large number of officialdom novels. His mentality transformed anxiety from game. In the middle of this change, he became patriot from the professional journalists.Chapter fourth, In the center of A Short History of Civilization, viewing the realistic illustration of officialdom in the late Qing.
