Research On Spatial Rotation Strategy Of Two - Dimensional Image

Representation is about the objective things that not in front of the insight formed in the brain by the "mind’s eye". People can use representation to do his work anytime and anywhere. Among the theories about the representation, this research supports the views of picture theory. Mental rotation is one of the important experimental paradigms about representation.Some studies showed that individuals can not only use the flipping strategy, but also the spinning strategy in the normal-mirror task. The flipping strategy contains flipping about the horizontal axis process and flipping about the Vertical axis process. In this paper, the author will discuss the question that will this two flipping process be separated, study the question about the critical angle between the120°nd150°, and talk about the process when the tilted angle is120and150was used in normal-mirror task.To study these questions, the entire study included three experiments. These experiments mainly talked about the way of mental rotation and the process of mental rotation when the tilted angles are180°,150°,120°in the flipping strategy instructions. The design of entire experiments was Subjects within the design; the first experiment was mainly talked about the process of flipping about the horizontal axis and the vertical axis; the second experiment mainly investigated the critical angle between the depth plane and the picture plane in mental rotation; the last experiment investigated the process of particular tilted angles, such as120°,150°.Given the experimental results and the related researches, this study supported the following conclusions:(1) The process of flipping about the horizontal axis process and flipping about the vertical axis can be separated from the whole flipping strategy.(2) The120°was the critical angle between the two strategies.(3) The mainly process of mental rotation about150°were the directly flip and first rotated the inverted position then flip directly; the process of mental rotation about120°were the spinning strategy and first rotated the inverted position then flip directly.
