Defamiliarization was put forward by Shklovsky for the first time in Art asa Means. He thought that the function of literature is restoring people’s feeling to new statefrom habituation and automation. The main reason that defamiliarization can be disappeared isarousing people’s interest and changing people’s feeling for the world as people are numb indaily lives.Defamiliarization played a big role in literature at that moment. This conception had beenused widely in literary language narrative perspective before movie. The use ofdefamiliarization makes us find everything fresh and new. It makes some familiar thingsbecome strange, and expand the literature tension. Literary creations are needed to be noveltyand peculiarity to make the artistic work have artistic vitality.The process of creation is also the process of defamiliarization. Meanwhile, the influenceof defamiliarization has been also expanded to other artistic areas. Defamiliarization has greatinfluences in the later areas. When referred the use breadth of defamiliarization, Shklovskypointed that “where there is image, there is defamiliarizationâ€. The color that gives people supervisual impact in movie and the full-length shot and montage are all the necessary manifestationmodes in cinema. Expanding the connotation of defamiliarization and making good use of thetheory will help it get constant innovation and development.This paper will try to expand the theory area of defamiliarization, and interpretdefamiliarization from the angle of cinema, bring cinema into the study of defamiliarization,thus make people know defamiliarization in a new and deep tangle. Meanwhile, the paper alsotries to make new interpretation of defamiliarization from some classic modes like full-lengthshot and montage. And hope to make people break their view; recognize movie’s endless charmfrom defamiliarization angle in the process of interpretation. This paper further analyze cinemahow to create defamiliarization theory of dynamic in the process of innovation, and make thestudy of defamiliarization gradually form its unique style.The paper divided into three aspects and five parts. The first aspect is the first part of thepaper, which will introduce the origin of defamiliarization and its development. The first part will make us know defamiliarization very clear. The second aspect contains the second, thethird and the forth parts. This aspect will interpret the use of defamiliarization in movie fromthree different angles which are color, montage and full-length shot.
