For example, the works which Wen Zhengming modeled after Ni Zan still have the traits of quietness and loneliness of Ni Yunlin. In the concept of art, Wen Zhengming has in common with Zhao Mengfu about the characteristic of primitivism. They both advocate "old artistic conception", and the feature of quietness and solemnness are on their works. Also, there is the feature of primitive simplicity on their works which describes rural scenery.Wen Zhengming was a painter who had a long life and had a variety of works. He learned from a lot of painters in all ages. During the accumulation of art life on the long journey, his technique of the painting was up to maturity and he created various different landscape works on the composition, the pen and ink style, and the colors. Especially, the giant and emphatic landscape works made him up to the ultimate culmination of art in his last20years.By focusing on the analysis of 《fangzhaobojuhouchibitu》 painted by Wen Zhengming, I explain his style of art and the charm of his landscape works on the aspects of literary accomplishments, style. subjects, colors, and so on. However, that "model the ancients" can’t follow ancient ways is the biggest choke point in the process of imitating and creation.
