A Study On The Relationship Between Indispensive And Time 's Insight And Job Search Behavior

In career psychology, the indecisiveness and time perspective of personality variables have important influence on job search behavior. However, the research about the relationship among indecisiveness, time perspective and job search behavior is scare.Therefore, this study used questionnaire method for420university graduate students and analyzed the data by SPSS20.0and AMOS20.0. This study revised the Indecisiveness Scale, Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory and Job Search Behavior Questionnaire, summarized the current situation of university graduate students’ indecisiveness, time perspective and job search behavior, examined the distribution of indecisiveness, time perspective and job search behavior on demographic variables, tested the relationship among indecisiveness, time perspective and job search behavior and explored what kind of role indecisiveness played between time perspective and job search behavior. The thesis draws the following conclusions:(1)The revised Indecisiveness Scale showed a reasonable reliability and validity, including three dimensions, decision-making avoidance, decision-making procrastination and decision-making worry. The revised Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory also showed a satisfactory reliability and validity, including five dimensions, past negative, past positive, present hedonistic, present fatalistic and future dimensions. The revised Job Search Behavior Questionnaire also showed a high reliability and validity, including five dimensions, search channel, search effort, learning behavior, search preparation and psychology adjustment.(2)The level of university graduate students’indecisiveness was lower and there were significant gender differences in the indecisiveness. The level of university graduate students’time perspective was higher and the time perspective in education background, college category and internship were significantly different. The level of university graduate students’job search behavior was higher and there were significant education background and internship in the job search behavior.(3)The indecisiveness, time perspective and job search behavior were significantly correlated pairwise. The indecisiveness was significantly negative correlated with job search behavior, while the time perspective was significantly positive correlated with job search behavior. (4)The indecisiveness and each dimension had significantly negative prediction on job search behavior. The time perspective had significantly positive prediction on job search behavior. Among them, past negative, present hedonistic and future had significantly positive prediction on job search behavior, while past negative and present fatalistic had significantly negative prediction on job search behavior.(5)The indecisiveness had significant partial mediating effect on the relationship between time perspective and job search behavior.
