Robert Schumann, the typical representative of the Romantic MusicSchool in19thcentury, is one of the greatest musician in the history ofGermany. He is a genius in composition and literature, whose creative scopeinvolves many fields such as symphony, piano music, chamber music, artsongs and literary criticism and he has had outstanding achievements.Schumann inherits the lyric style of German art songs in his musical creation.In addition to his colorful techniques in playing piano, Schumann integrateshis talent in literature and his sensitive understanding of Romanticism, whichmakes German art songs increasingly mature. The special style ofSchumann’s vocal works has a great effect on the development of art songsall over the world.This article focuses on the songs (1-6) of Schumann’s famous song cycleDichterliebe, in which the arctic features of the six songs is mainly discussed.How to interpret art songs by using vocal techniques is mainly analyzed,which has a significance in performing and teaching vocal music. Theresearch is very helpful for the learners of vocal music to interpretSchumann’s vocal works. It’s believed that with the active culturalcommunication from all over the world, Schumann’s vocal works will beincreasingly known and performed.
