Clinical Observation On Treatment Of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease With Stable Lung - Spleen - Qi Deficiency Syndrome By

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of herbal decoction on the theoretical basis of reinforcing the earth to strengthen the metal for treating Qi deficiency of the lung and spleen syndrome in stationary phase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.Materials and Methods:60 patients with Qi deficiency of the lung and spleen syndrome in stationary phase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease visited in outpatient of Lung Disease Department in the Second Affiliated Hospital to Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2013 to June 2015,who met inclusive criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,30 in each group. Patients in two groups had no obvious difference(p>0.05) in objective measures such as age,sex,diseases’ course,history of smoking and the severity of the diseases(comprehensive assessment group) by statistical test,and can be comparative. According to the treatment scheme in stationary phase diagnosis and treatment guidances for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,the control group was given conventional western medicine for treatment:Salmeterol Xinafoate and Fluticasone Propionate Powder for Inhalation(trade name :Seretide),strength:50ug/500ug*60,once/inhalation,twice a day; the treatment group was given orally reinforcing the earth to strengthen the metal decoction 100 ml on the basis of the control group,three times a day.The cycles were 12 weeks,visits were performed for every four weeks.Relevant index for patients in two groups were measured respectively before and after treatment and visit periods,such as clinical score for TCM symptoms, pulmonary ventilation function, severity of dyspnea and the quality of life assessment questionnaire scores;and safety measures(blood routine,uterine routine,liver function, kidney function and ECG) were detected before and after treatment. Results were performed for statistical analysis using SPSS18.0 statistical software and got the conclusion.Results:Treatment group the total effective rate was 86.67%;control group the total effective rate was 58.62%;the differnece was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating efficacy of treatment group was superior to control group. Both groups can improve pulmonary ventilation function,and treatment group showed a tendency of further postoned deterioration of pulmonary function compared to control group(FEV1% and FEV1/FVC% increased about 7.73% and 6.29%,respectively in the treatment group; FEV1% and FEV1/FVC% increased about4.28% and 3.82%,respectively in the control group).the treatment group had significant improvement in three TCM clinical symptoms scores,CAT scores and severity of dyspnea of expectoration,fatigue and loose stool compared to the control group after treatment,which was statistically significant(p<0.05).Liver and kidney function,blood routine,uterine routine and ECG for patients in two groups showed no obvious abnormality before and after treatment.Conclusion:For the patients with Qi deficiency of the lung and spleen syndrome in stationary phase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,treatment for the reinforcing the earth to strengthen the metal decoction combined with conventional western medicine can significantly improve TCM clinical symptoms such as expectoration,fatigue,loose stool;and obviously relieve severity of dyspnea for patients;and significantly improve patients’ life quality;and show the tendency of further postoned deterioration of pulmonary function;and its efficacy is significant and good safety.
