ObjectiveThe objective of this study is to induce and analysis the clinical syndrome differentiation and prescription method of Professor Zhu Jian-gui in treating senile disease by the elimination therapy.To summarize and learn the experience of elimination treatment in senile diseases from the old traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) expert.MethodThis study is a summarize of the clinical experience of old doctor of TCM. Collecting medical records in elderly patients in geriatrics clinic of Guang’ anmen Hospital of Chinese Academy of TCM, from March 2015 to April 2016.Selecting the typical cases of elimination therapy what Professor Zhu always use in geriatric syndromes. To sum up and analyze, in order to elaborate the method of diagnosis, prescription, treatment of Professor ZHU Jian-gui. The study is divided into two parts. The first part is a literature review, including two reviews. The first review is a profile of general elimination therapy, aims to introduce it by clearing its concept, listing the origins, using and attention of it. The second review introduce development of treating senile diseases by elimination therapy nowadays. The second part is a summary of clinical experience. By following the clinical tutor Professor ZHU Jian-gui, I record the principle of the using of elimination in geriatric syndromes therapy. And I summarized the typical clinical cases in several spaces like removing stagnation of qi, food, phlegm and retained fluid. And I analyze and discussion the clinical thinking and prescription law of senile diseases treatment. Coordinating the commonly prescriptions of elimination therapy what Dr.Zhu uses in removing stagnation of qi, food, phlegm and retained fluid, blood stasis. To show the different experience use in different pathogenic factors.ResultsIn all ages, elimination therapy is widely used in TCM clinic. Doctors through the ages used the elimination therapy and developed its theory and application. In recent years, there are some new progress in treating geriatric syndromes by elimination therapy.There are meaningful data in treating all body systems’ diseases, like senile circulatory system diseases, respiratory diseases, nervous system diseases, diseases of the urinary and reproductive system, disease of endocrine system, digestive system diseases, motor system disease.Summarize 14 typical cases of senile diseases by using the elimination therapy, what have good results. There are using method of removing blood stasis, reduce phlegm, eliminating stagnation to cure elderly breast nodules; activating blood circulation and relieve pain to cure nervous headache; activating blood circulation and eliminating stagnation to cure elderly senile coronary heart disease angina pectoris; activating blood circulation and kidney nourishing method to cure lumbar disease and tinnitus; activating blood circulation and promoting qi to cure elderly cerebral infarction recovery; reducing phlegm and retained fluid to cure Meniere’s disease; warming and eliminating phlegm and retained fluid to cure senile chronic bronchitis acute attack period; reducing phlegm,solving gloomy and clearing away the heart-fire to cure senile depression, using Liver-Discharging and Stomach-Harmonizing method to cure chronic gastritis; reducing phlegm and relieving intestinal stasis to cure constipation; reducing phlegm and promoting qi to cure insomnia.ConclusionsElimination therapy play a important role in treating senile diseases.
