The three generation mobile system (3G) is becoming more and more popularly. One of its advangtages is to access internet with broad-band in wireless environment. Howerver, accessing internet with broad-band in wireless environment must achive the support of mobile ipv6. The mobile ipv6 technology will become a popular technology for a long time. Duing to some characteristic nature of mobile ipv6, such as the open wireless links, the frequent moving of mobile node, and the tunnel mechanism, the hosts which use mobile ipv6 technology will achive more attacks than tradition hosts. The security in mobile ipv6 environment is the emphasis that we should consider. Securing the binding update and binding acknowledge between mobile node, home agent and correspondent node is most important.currently, the mobile working group uses return routing procedure and ipsec to secure the BU and BA. However, this method have many shortcomings in redundancy, communication control messages, and key length etc. According to those shortcomings, the author advances another method, we can secure the binding update and binding acknowledge by using the Kerberos protocol and improve the performance of mobile ipv6. At last, this article compared three methods, kerberos, RRP&IPsec, ECBU, and analysis the total delay by using network simulator 2, and prove the Kerberos protocol's contribution to improve the performance of mobile ipv6 in security and delay.
