Using the methods of combining simulation and experiments, the capability of clutter suppression in the special system radar at UHF-band is discussed in this thesis, aiming at the characteristic that the radar has too much clutter inside 50km during its development and test. Several issues are analyzed in detail. The issues are the effect of clutter suppression in near-zone by STC curve and clutter figure, the effect of clutter suppression by MTI and MTD, the factors that affect the pulse compression in signal processor, the improvement of CFAR Slow threshold circuits, the methods of selecting range. The study results show that the effect of clutter suppression is obvious when the STC curves are chosen appropriately and the clutter figures are used correctly, selecting the parameters of MTI and MTD reasonably not only can cancel immovable clutter but also can cancel moving clutter at low speed, the CFAR Slow threshold circuits after improvement can ameliorate the clutter condition, choosing the terrain reasonably can also reduce the clutter in near-zone. The capability of clutter suppression in the special system radar at UHF-band is improved obviously, after the study result is used in the radar.
