With the development of information technology, even a single department probably becomes a heterogeneous data source. Nowadays, the companies need to visit all sorts of heterogeneous data sources. In order to meet this demand we need one system, which can support the integration of the different data sources. The thesis first discusses the difficulty in the integration of the process of the heterogeneous source database, the strategy of integration, the technique of integration. Then the thesis proposes an overall project, which can solve the integration of heterogeneous data sources. And at the same time, the core part of the system is realized. Due to the agility and the expansibility of XML language, it can describe data for different applications. Thus, this integration system uses XML model as their public model and all of the heterogeneous data sources are changed into XML document for the further exchange. The method of data integration proposed in this thesis bases on the popular three-layers system of Internet, browser/Web Server/DBMS. The system discussed in this thesis is divided into three layers: layer of Data Sources; layer of XML mid-ware: layer of application. Among these, the layer of mid-ware is the key part in this system, and then we demonstrate the technique used in this layer. Some of new standard, technique and IDE are introduced, such as JSP, JAVA, XML, Java Web Server and etc. For the convenience of design and realization, the mid-ware layer is divided into three layers: data layer, function layer and presentation layer. Then on the base of the overall project, which can solve the integration of different data source, the core part ofthe system is realized. We reconstruct a discuss program which is popular in the Internet to demonstrate how to use XSLT from a servlet, how to create dynamic XML data with JAXP and DOM and transfer this data into HTML with XSLT.
