This thesis is intended to make a thorough study of knowledge-based MIS intelligent query. It starts with an introduction of the concepts and structures of MIS, and makes a depiction of the methods of query, the existing languages of query, and intelligent query technologies; discusses the system structure and core conception of knowledge building. It analyzes the functioning and basic structure of the knowledge base; makes a reference model of five-layer knowledge base and thereby actualizes the graded structure of the components of the knowledge library based on the application requirements of clients in order to help realize intelligent query. Also, the thesis presents a modeling mechanism for breaking down a complex question into a series of sub-questions in organizing the knowledge base so that the modeling process of knowledge base becomes at the same time the process of knowledge modeling; makes a comparison between the construction of application-based knowledge base and that of other knowledge bases to demonstrate the many advantages of the application-based knowledge base.The thesis also makes a description of the related functions of the knowledge-based integrative intelligent query modeling which is presented based on the knowledge base system that can efficiently describe, organize and store the background knowledge of various analytical sector in a database. It mainly comprises of the following three parts:1. Study of the intelligent query technology, with which an integrative query can be made of the concepts not directly stored in the database.2. Study of the inference module in KIIQ. By introducing the module featuring a concept expansion function, a tool is provided to obtain the concept related to the targeted concept; by introducing the semantics expansion technology and researching into the module of inference, intelligent query can be supported.3. Study of the technology of automatically using related intelligent query technology to analyze and rewrite the queries of clients based on the gradation of concepts featured in the application of knowledge base in order to process the findings of query and provide the hidden, general, comprehensive and personalized information to increase the intelligent level of user's query.
