The Method And Realization Of Inheritance In SD-DOOD

Deductive database and object-oriented database are two extensions to the relation database technology. Deductive database both extends the query ability of relation database and keeps the foundation of its mathematics. Object-oriented database can provide abundant data modeling ability. So they take up very important stations in the development of database system. But deductive object-oriented database not only has reasoning ability of deductive database, but also has powerful modeling ability of object-oriented database. It combines their advantages and has become a new direction in the development of database.The primary work of the thesis is to improve and extend on SD-DOOD experiment system and its language DOOL that was designed by us before. We go further to search approaches to combine deductive database and object-oriented database. The central work of the thesis is as follows:1. Provide the system structure figure of deductive object-oriented database SD-DOOD and specifically explain the function of each module in it.2. Put forward the concepts and grammar of the language involved in the data model of the deductive object-oriented database. Provide specific database examples of schema and instance and corresponding structure figure.3. Research inheritance that is one of importance characteristics in deductive object-oriented database. Put forward many methods to realize inheritance and solve conflict in multi-inheritance. These methods are: overriding inheritance, inheritance path selection, explicit renaming, user-specified priority, total inheritance and the backtracking of rule inheritance.4.
