The Application And Research Of Web Service Based Safe Email MUA

E-mail is one of the most popular communication services around us, but there are some overstaffed problems associated with the MUA (Mail User Agent) of traditional E-mail system. These problems make the E-mail client side cumbrous and difficult to expand on mobile terminals such as cell phone, and PDA etc.WS(Web Service) is a XML based technology, which is designed to help the isomerous systems to communicate with each other easily. With the help of XML, data can be transfered between procedures written by different languages. The Web Service based E-mail user agent can easily solove the overstaffed problems of tranditional E-mail system, such as function repeat, fat client and bad expansibility,and a WS based MUA can easily implement on various kinds of hardwares and software environment such as low end home electro-equipments and CLDC(Connected Limited Device Configuration) equipments. In the past era ,security problem always bother the WS before,but now WS-security policy has released .which aim at building a safe WS. Under this background, a safe WS based MUA schema is presented in this paper.This paper narrates the background of the selected subject and research contents at first, and describes the architecture and protocol of the traditional E-mail and explains the principle of Web Service and the advantage of merging it to E-mail, then explains the basic principle of cryptography and safety certification technology, A safe WS based E-mail system schema is also realized and expounded at last.
