The continuous development of wireless communication requires it's equipments become more and more integration, which leads to the miniaturization of the antenna. Microstrip antenna is one of the research objects of miniature antenna, and its size can be further reduced by taking advantage of LTCC(Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) technology.LTCC is very suitable to be used in miniature antenna due to its high performance in microwave such as low medium loss, high Q, etc. LTCC technics employs multi-layer technique which allows configurations of antenna to expand from one dimension to 3D.Antenna radiation theory is the basic knowledge of the antenna research and analysis. In this dissertation, first the electric characteristics of meander line antenna are summarized, then the characteristics of resonant and gain of stacked meander line antenna with their current flow on the same direction and on the contrary direction are studied. LTCC multi-layer technics is utilized to further decrease antenna size by putting the same parts of the meander line antenna on two different layers which can be linked by via-holes. The simulated results show that this kind of antenna is able to reduce the largest dimension of antenna to about 7mm, and has characteristic of omni-direction.
