With the network information runs up, users demand the performance of network-data retrieval that be more accurate, more whole, and more intelligent. Research in intelligent retrieval is always an advanced subject in the domain of information retrieval. Supported by National Foundation of China, we have researched the ontology-based technologies of information retrieval and project realization in the domain of mechanical products. Some achievement we have acquired can be expressed as follows:(1) Aimed to the limitations of some existing ontology modeling method, the paper presents a new modeling method which is based on ontology life cycle and builds up the structure model of MPO. A new ontology knowledge storage method based on plane helix relation is presented .This method can reduce the complexity of query constructing, and improve the efficiency of query extension.(2) A three-layers structure for domain information intelligent retrieval system is designed in the paper, and we realize some fuction modules, such as query building, query optimizing, matching service, orders optimizing of retrival results etc.(3) In this paper, we present a new query abstracting algorithm (QRMM), which is based on the mutual mapping between query expression and relation table.
