With the rapid development of computer technology and the constant improvement of the society informationlization, the computer information system has come into various fields in the world and become the basement of the key business in corporations gradually. Peoples pay more and more attention to the security and reliability of the information system. Database system is the kernel of the computer information system. It is a practical and useful subject to study how to improve system reliability and availability.This thesis studies issue of remote heterogeneous disaster-tolerant technology for Massive database. Based on the massive database developed by 613# staff room of the Computer School of National University of Defense Technology, we designed a remote heterogeneous disaster-tolerant system for the Massive Database. The primary works of this thesis include:1. We analyzed and compared the mainstream remote disaster-tolerant technology and pointed out the deficiencies in such technology for the Massive Database remote heterogeneous disaster-tolerance requirement.2. We studied technology of Massive Database remote heterogeneous disaster-tolerance, including distributed object middleware, remote data copy ,network connections and so on.3. A remote data copyying policy based on distributed object middleware is proposed. This policy can support massive data and heterogeneous database.4. After study deeply of the characteristics of the Massive Database, we designed a Framework of Remote Heterogeneous Disaster-tolerance for Massive Database(FRHDMD) based on the Middle-ware.5. Finally we implemented FRHDMD based on StarBus.The experiment on the functionality and the performance of FRHDMD shows that each function of FRHDMD have been implemented correctly ,and the performance of FRHDMD is acceptable.
