Recently, with the information age-especially the digital age has been coming, the medical image has become an important assistant means of diagnose and therapy for doctor. With the good qualities, like safety, fast speed, real time and low price, the ultrasound medical image technology has taken great effect on many aspects, such as medical diagnose, layout before operation, therapy, inspecting after operation, etc.As the base of development for these image technology, the medical image processing technology has driven the development of modern medical diagnose, and bringing profound change. In it, image segmentation plays very important role in the quantity and quality analysis for the medical ultrasound image, and it influences the continuous processing and analysis directly.In this paper, to aim at the character of ultrasound image, and combine with image processing technology, the technology of medical ultrasound image processing mainly in the base of image segmentation is studied.Firstly, the background of medical ultrasound image processing research status in domestic and overseas are analyzed roundly, the significance of studying ultrasound image processing and the realistic meaning of this task are shown.Secondly, the interrelated knowledge of medical ultrasound image is introduced, including B type ultrasound, format, collection and character of medical ultrasound image, established the foundation for continuous processing.Thirdly, applying several pretreatment methods that fit into ultrasound image for medical ultrasound image processing, including histogram technology, big scale median filter, adaptive weight median filter, local statistic filter, etc. These pretreatment methods could restrain the speckle noise the ultrasound image own efficiently, and could reserve the detail information of image perfectly.And at last, in the base of analyzing quantity of ultrasound image, usingtraditional image processing method for reference, the medical ultrasound image processing technology is studied. Adopt many methods for medical ultrasound image processing, including texture analyzing, edge detection, regions grow, threshold segmentation, active contour model, etc, and get good experiment result. Then we carrying through some useful exploration to the processing methods based on multi-theory like fuzzy set, neural network and mathematic morphologic, etc, finally, the evaluation of medical ultrasound image segmentation is studied.
