The system modeling is a very important aspect of Underwater Vehicle System which will affect the analysis ability of system model. Many means can be used to give the Underwater Vehicle System model. Petri nets is one of them. It describes the asynchronous and concurrent phenomenon effectively. With the development of the concurrent computation and distributed system, Petri nets was used widely. It can be expressed both in math and in graphics. The latter is visual and intuitive, and the former is convenient in compute compilation and experimental verification. Petri nets is a tool of formalize effectively and strictly. If the structure components and function elements of Underwater Vehicle System are loaded into the same net, the system is too big to analyze clearly when Petri nets is used to model for Underwater Vehicle System. It needs large computus. Consequently, it should be formed a kind of rank order between structure layer and function layer. The first layer elements are structure elements. When they are opened up, the second layer elements are reciprocal function elements. The rationalism of structure is decided by realization circumstances of functions.In this paper, our work in Underwater Vehicle System modeling is listed as following. Firstly, we study an analysis method of performance based on reachable tree. The ways of deadlock detection and the estimation of integration and vegetation and boundedness and contact are included in it. Secondly, according to the complexity of Underwater Vehicle System, Petri nets is used to model for the structure layer and the function layer. Moreover, the system function analysis based on reachable tree is in progress in the model. Finally, the Underwater Vehicle System modeling and emulation system is designed and realized. Its data structure was designed. It achieves the modeling performance of Petri nets and the determinant performance of the algorithms.
