As in a complicated underwater environment, autonomous underwater vehicle is thought to be a very hard work to simulate. Condition limitation and huge cost adds much difficulty to system modeling, simulating, testing and training. Actual simulation aiming at system failure and task is impossible. So, it is necessary to find a method to construct autonomous underwater vehicle laboratory simulation model.First of all, a structure model is built by P/T net and the rationality of the model is analyzed using reachability tree and incidence matrix. Secondly, An object oriented colored Petri net based on autonomous underwater vehicle system is introduced and defined to construct the functional model layer upon layer. Finally, simulation is done in a video software tool CPN Tools, after analyzing the realization of functional model using the simulation result and reachability tree method, the correlativity between structure and function is gained.The conclusion of this paper is the base of capability estimating, it brings forward a validation method to pool examination in advance, cuts down the simulating times and decreases the development cost.
