Bluetooth is one of the short-distance, low-cost wireless communication technologies. It was brought to replace cables between portable devices to form a personal wireless local area network. Bluetooth can not only make it possible to combine computer with communication technologies, but also integrate home appliance, entertainment electric devices, computers and communication terminals. This will bring convenience in many situations such as home entertainment, office affairs or in some public sectors because Bluetooth can provide universal operations and controls. In other words, Bluetooth provides us an easy approach of office automation and home communication. Bluetooth can be regarded as a kind of open, global wireless standard of voice and data communication technologies. The protocol specification of Bluetooth communication designed by Special Interest Group is a kind of global uniformed technical standard. It must be conformed when Bluetooth-related products are designed. Under the Bluetooth specification framework, strictly conformed the Bluetooth protocol stack architecture, the thesis made a detail analysis of Service Discovery Protocol and Logical Link Control and Adaptive Protocol. Based on the analysis results, from the protocol layered point of view, under the guidance of protocol engineering method, taken full use of the mechanism of finite state machine, the thesis implemented the two protocols on Linux platform in ANSI C.The unique of this thesis is the further development of protocol theory when used in implementation. As the development of the protocols, the thesis made a deeper research of protocol verification. To solve the complex protocol verification problem of fitting into new network environments, based on the latest protocol verification methods, the thesis brought up a new verification approach—multi layer FSM based compositional protocol verification. The thesis provided not only the logical foundations of the method but also the steps of verification.
