The fiber optic gyroscope is a kind of velocity sensors based on Sagnac effect. Using fiber optic gyroscope rotate speed can be measured though measuring the difference of two lights along clockwise and counter-clockwise. Because the fiber optic gyroscopes have the significant features, the researches on it have become hot topics in recent years. Today the low and medium precision fiber optic gyroscopes have been widely applied to the inertial measurement system of civil equipment and military tactical weapons, and the many research organization of the word are also developing high precision inertial navigation grade fiber optic gyroscope system applied in the areas of marine or aerospace. While the improvement of photoelectrical instruments' capabilities and the development of digital signal process provides material basis and technique support for high precision fiber optic gyroscope.This article introduces the work theory of fiber optic gyroscope in detail, presents all digital processing scheme of closed-loop interferometer fiber optic gyroscope and analyzes the signal detection scheme of fiber optic gyroscope using square wave biased and digital phase ramp modulator feedback controlling. An all digital closed-loop signal process system for medium precision fiber optic gyroscope based on the high speed 16 bit DSP TMS320VC5402 of TI is designed and the hardware circuit and software debug program are given. Also analyzes the reason of DEADBAND. These are meaningful to advance the precision of fiber optic gyroscope and develop high precision interferometer fiber optic gyroscope.
