The Communication Between Softswitch-based 3G And WLAN

The development of 3G is under the improving process from current network to NGN. As an intergrate communication system, 3G has maturate protocals among different PLMN and can supply customers with no interval. Though 3G has so many advantages its' transmission rate is low when it is busy. This article analyzes the improving process from 2G to 3G The technology of GPRS enhances the function of 2G. The technology of GPRS which stands by the standard of 3GPP includes SGSN,GGSN and PCU mainly. Softswitch is the core technology of NGN. On the basis of the technology of Softswitch,this article studies the communication technology between 3G and WLAN. First,this article analyzes the improving process of network and the function of Softswitch to 3G. After analyzing the relate technology of WLAN,advantages and disadvantages of 3G and WLAN this article promotes the communication method between 3G and WLAN. For GPRS is the main part of 3G, this article analyzes the communication between GPRS and WLAN. Later, this article promotes the communication method between 3G and WLAN. For creating the communication protocal construction between 3G and WLAN,I studied the protocal of SGSN,RAN,LANE and 802.11. At last, this article studies the technology of LANE and realizes RTP's programming.Contribution: After analyzing the construction and function of 3G, though the field which 3G covers is large it has an disadvantage of low transmission rate.However, though the field which WLAN covers is small, it transmits data quickly, so the communication method between 3G and WLAN is promoted. Hence the problem of low transmission rate of 3G is overcomed and NGN will be more wonderful.At last, the article promotes the communication protocal construction between 3G and WLAN and realizes the programming of RTP.
