Telematics system is an application system based on car carry navigation platform. It can be applied to automobile communication technology field, which means that automobile can exchange information with outer resource by wireless communication. It associates wireless voice and data communication technology with satellite position technology, multimedia technology. It also provides driver services such as GIS based communication, navigator position, schedule command, safety first aid and real time traffic information, personal messages, detail road instruction, and car carry entertainment. As a new technology leading automobile industry to a new stage, Telematics will combine mobile communication technology with wireless network services in addition to developed functions such as car computer and satellite position. In other words, Telematics is not only an automobile information and entertainment equipment in the future, but also a bridge that connecting automobile with mobile business. Along with the tide of combining mobile communication with network, the third generation system can choose TSP freely in addition to its open platform which can receive services from other provider. It is more important that Telematics system will further integrate various mobile communication systems at this stage. Although, the most important infrastructure of 3G wireless communication system in Telematics system is not constructed entirely, the opinion of how to use mobile service in automobile environment is distinct, and the specification and criterion of how to integrate Telematics system need to be discussed ulteriorly. But, in long view, the trend of integrating wireless communication technology, mobile terminating device with personal computer is obvious day by day. Therefore, service market related to Telematics is still main market worth to be exploited for future automobile industry and other providers. Thus, the framework of next generation Telematics system will include: services integrated with content and provider, mobile communication system and network, car carry system and environment, related communication and position technology and etc. This paper describes the Telematics system designed by Object Oriental method. Extensibility, maintainability and reusability were taken into account during design. The system structure inherits advantages of the original one, and it is more extensible and customizable by using different transform technology in different application scenarios. Using OOAD, the paper describes analysis and design of network data exchange part which includes data sending and receiving, data packet parsing, network authorization and etc., analyzes the problems maybe occurred during implement, and gives according solution. Chapter one illustrates related background and research meanings of Telematics system, introduces history, global trend, and future direction of development of Telematics system in detail. The system mainly resolves communication between car and outer resources, transform problem that wireless communication technology sends information and multimedia contents as one-way or bidirectional. This is aimed at research requirement of navigation system and electronic map. This chapter indicates that the continuous growth of Telematics will bring related industries many opportunities, enumerates key technologies during implementation of Telematics: satellite position and navigation, wireless mobile communication, digital broadcasting, satellite digital recorder, operation system and applications, display technology, network capability, electronics and user interface. Technically, Telematics system need to consider extensibility, reliability, information transparency, security and data transform ability among different service providers. And the difficulties are conversion of data format, maintenance of data integrality, secure transferring of data. To resolve these problems will use the most advanced technologies such as Object Oriented, pivotal technology in HTTP network data transfer. Chapter two describes the total design of the system. Firstly, it analyzes system structure and layers by OOAD, puts forward the total structure of the system based on COM and ATL, gives function modules which constitute the system, and illustrates the whole software system and structure by UML. It takes the system apart to several modules by COM during the process of system designing. Every module has its functional independency, accomplishes tasks through interface of each others when working together. These modules can be developed, compiled, debugged, and tested alone. They will combine to an entire application system after they were finished. When software and hardware environment or user requirement changes, we can modify the affected components except to modify all components, and rebuild it to an upgrade software. Besides, the system uses Client/Server modal to separate tasks considered of communication problems among processes. Client and server accomplish their own works and fulfill tasks together. It improves stability and extensibility of the software and the performance of the system.
