The Ethernet has been gradually introduced into industrial control fields along with the development of network technology, and which is been expected to unify the multi-incompatible field buses. Moreover, networked-induced time delay has been more considered. So the affect to the control systems must been study due to the introduction of the networks.First, the networked control systems (NCSs) are briefly explained. Summarizing the holistic structures and levels in NCS; pointing out three control modes in NCSs; briefly introducing the designs of the embedded gateway and the subnet data access modes; several trends of NCSs are in prospect, then a new mode of NCSs is proposed which based on control strategy servers. Then, the relationship between the network characters and control strategies is proposed. The effect of the delay on the control strategy and performance is analyzed; several representative protocols are explained on the view of control field, and pointing out virtues and flaws; the network safety and performance evaluation of NCSs are briefly introduced. In the 4 and 5 chapters, the method how to design NCS's controller based on MPC is presented, which compensate the indeterminate delay through the mode matching and multi-step predictive output. And the methodology is not only suited one special protocol, furthermore, which can be used to long delay systems. The effectiveness of the methodology is verified through the closed-loop system simulation and the actual network experiment flat based on inverted pendulum. And a method to design embedded Web server is introduced.
