The Study Of BOM Module In The Beifang PDM System

The development of computer technology brings up information age. And information-based manufacturing is the total tendency of world manufacturing industry. At the same time, with the application of CAD, CAPP, CAM, different applied systems need information share and integration. Product is the core of all activities in manufacturing industry. The product configuration, which is used to describe the product components,is the key of integrating the information, function and process for the enterprise. During the data flow in the whole life of the product i.e. designing, manufacturing, assembling, maintaining and abolishing, the bill of materials is the important foundation of transforming and modifying the information. BOM is not only the basement of every system, but also the interface of information integration. It is difficult to deal with BOM in the PDM system.Because of this state, we exploit Beifang PDM system by ourselves,which aimed at middle and small manufacturing enterprises. Based of Beifang PDM, This thesis makes a detailed study of BOM part. Firstly the actuality of manufacturing Informatilization and BOM, BOM's kind and form are introduced; And then BOM's function and realization way is analysed. The structure, functions and division of the modules in integrating of PDM have been proposed. The author analyzed the technology in the system integration of PDM, described the characteristics, functions, systematic structures, pointed out the content and objects of the integration; Based on the solution for integration of PDM, the model of the product structure and its configuration is established. For organizing activities in manufacturing, the enterprise needs precise information about the product configuration.
