Commercial enterprise management is one of the important fields of computer application. A Chain Store Commercial Information Management System is developed and researched, which comes down to integrating commercial tradition idea with scientific management methods, and software engineering methods, network communication technology, database technology, computer technology and so on. It is a very complicated system engineering.This paper puts forward a kind of C/S and B/S mixed pattern from a system engineering and software engineering perspective, and elaborates one of chain store MIS in RiZhao as a successful example. Aiming at complex operation, frequent data processing, more data transmitting and high-demand to security ,the C/S is used .On the contrary, for those operations of wide scope and low-rise security, the B/S is used .In this way, the mixed pattern has the advantages both C/S and B/S and it satisfies different special demands of chain store MIS.The paper analyzes and states design principles and methods of the chain store shops information management system based on C/S mixed with B/S. It mainly introduces the commodity sell and the commodity management in the subsystem shops and the head shop, which includes function design, performance design and database design as well as primary data flowchart. It analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of C/S and B/S and demonstrates the feasibilities and superiorities of mixed pattern. The paper points out the system structure of C/S and B/S and the key techniques. It puts forward the developing means of mixed pattern and database designing and optimizing principle and notices proceedings in application. By the general design principles of Relation Database System, the optimal design methods and the points for attention in application are developed.A method of using PSTN to connect the head shop and the subsystem shops is developed, which meets needs of the middle and small chain store.
