Grading system of apple size based on DSP uses Machine Vision Inspection, Digital Signal Process and Serial Communication technology in order to realize inspection dynamic apples after processing and analyzing images, then evaluate apple rating. In this grading system, apple is located by encoder, the grading machine is driven to realize grading apple.The thesis introduced some extending functions of the DSP development board and software system based on it. DSP development board has been studied deeply, through serial communication with single-chip, I/O interface is regarded as output controlling interface of DSP development board. At the same time, hardware electrocircuit of the grading machine and matching single-chip is designed. In the input and output image frame, single-double line scanning method has been designed out. By using this method impure points can be wiped off, inspecting apple can be realized exactly and quickly. After processing apple image, the number of pixels has been counted, and then the apple rating is evaluated by it. In the single-chip system, by receiving data from the DSP system, apple is located position by encoder, at last the single-chip drives the grading machine to grade apple.The research is a exploring study in grading system of apple based on DSP, which is useful to subsequent research of apple grading and development of other automatic grading products, significant to enhance economic value of fruits.
