In the past several years, the technology of object-oriented have become the main and the base of software reusing. Software component is the important content of distributed object research and is regarded as one of the key factor of successful reuse. Many component, such as, CORBA, DCOM, EJB have improved the efficiency and quality of software development, but, it can not meet the whole need of domain application. So, Web Services is put forward and is the growth of Object and Component. Since Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) has the advantages of scalability, accessibility and maintenance, it is one of the efficient ways to solve previous problems.There is many methods and functions in the domain of Hydrological forecasting, and the work flow in the domain is easy to be carved up. The value of reusing is very high and many reusable system have appeared. For example, there is many common function libraries in the domain. However, more of the reuse in the domain is code reuse , and more clients of the system is windows application. It can not meet the need of long-scale reuse and Internet. The research of reusing in the domain of Hydrological forecasting is very importantThe paper Combined with the characteristics of Hydrological forecasting domain, the problems of the domain application development are studied, which include Component-based development, Service-oriented Architecture etc, and the methodology of architecting Web Services application. Then focused on the domain, a model is introduced for the domain development. An example (Flood-forecast system application) is presented to explain how to develop applications based on the model.The main work of this thesis includes:1. Research Component-Based Development method and Web Services, analyse the leading component technology and Web Services.2. Combined with the characteristics of Hydrological forecasting domain, the problems of the domain application development are studied, which include services selection, services redirection and service composition etc, and the methodology of architecting Web Services application. Then focused on the domain, a solution is introduced for the domain development.3. Based on this solution, it is explained how to develop applications of Hydrological forecasting domain by using an example of flood forecasting system.
